Hi Annette:
Thank you for sharing your viewpoint and for your honesty. I have had numerous conversations with investors who do not understand why I have chosen to invest in certain areas. For me you hit the nail on the head. The areas may not be where I choose to live, that does not make the areas any less desirable to others. My personal goal is to offer affordable, safe and quality properties while making a profit.
Thanks again
Ranae

Thank you @Al Williamson I'm all in! This is the mission statement I wrote out recently for one of my business courses:
TGG Mgmt Mission Statement: We will inspire, empower and motivate individuals, families and communities to live to their highest potential through the giving of our time, services, and resources. These specific goals will be accomplished through the acquisition, rental and resell of residential and commercial real estate, and service based businesses that cater to the tastes and needs of our clients, without consideration of class or income level, as well as seminars and programs encouraging financial freedom and homeownership, designed to inform and empower. It is our daily goal to offer services, housing, and education that is affordable, of exceptional quality, and encourages unity and an overall sense of community.
After reading your blog, it served as confirmation that I am on the right path. Your input is greatly appreciated. I know quite a few investors that question why I have chosen my target areas. For me financially it makes more sense, but my primary reason is, those are the areas I relate to and I want the "neighborhood" back.

Hi Tyler,
I am interested to see what type of feedback you get on this question. Ironically I was just discussing this topic with my husband earlier today. I have yet to close my first deal so I can only offer my opinion. Personally I would rather invest in lower income areas. My reason being I am looking to purchase relatively cheap properties and want more cashflow initially. Although there are many horror stories, I am also not at all against section 8.

Hi @Brandon Turner:
Thank you for the welcome and the links. I have been reading different blogs and listening to a few podcasts. You guys have and are doing a great job with offering valuable information and sharing your experiences. Also, thank you for the links, I was having a hard time relocating the article with the book list.

Hi Darien,
I'll agree with the vistaprint suggestion. You should be able to get 250 for close to nothing. I also signed up for google voicemail after reading a few posts on the forums. I think basic contact info and your preferred title should be enough info.
Good luck

Hi Everyone,
My name is Ranae. I am new to real estate investing and after years of reading and researching, I've finally decided to take the plunge. This is something I've always wanted to do and I am excited about making my first deal within the next few months. I would like to start out with single family buy and holds and slowly build my portfolio from there. I look forward to engaging with everyone, networking and learning from your experiences.
