@Mike - Agree with you. I am not sure If I could wait for year long but for sure, the next 6 months, i will only be looking around for properties.

so i could pay probably 20k (10%) with my savings and i have a good credit history.

Is it advisable for a first time home buyer + aspirant real estate investor to buy a town home in the range of 200k with no income coming in. 

I am an IT consultant looking for a job after just relocated to Dallas, TX and i am thinking of buying a townhome rather than renting an apartment and rent couple of rooms for singles. 

any suggestions?
