Post: Section 8 Property Manager in Birmingham, AL

Hi Lev.

I don't have much value to add here, but am interested in connecting and hearing about how things went/are going with your Birmingham rental and the management of it. Also, congrats on your first property!

Does anyone own rentals in Shreveport/ Bossier City that they rent through section 8 and is willing to share their experience? I am interested in the model of purchasing cheap homes ($40k-$80K) and renting them through section 8. Does anybody currently do this in the area? There seems to be quite a few properties (2/1 and 3/1) in that price range and by looking at the fair market rents on HUD website it appears section 8 may be willing to pay $800-$1100/month in rents for 2 to 3 bedrooms homes. Any info/experience is appreciated!

Has anyone ever completed a wholesaling deal in Puerto Rico? Involving a seller, a buyer, and an end-buyer? Did you use an assignment contract? What other parties did you involve - lawyer, title company, etc.? I just want to know if these transaction are possible in PR and how smooth they go. Thanks!
