@Luis Moreno Did you ever end up moving forward with a property in Lakewood? I'd love to hear about it if you did.

@CJ M. thanks for sharing your typical lender fees!

@Daniel Kong you raise a good point regarding a lender being a protector for someone that doesn't have a ton of experience. However, even if I paid cash, I can still do my due diligence and get the appraisal to ensure it isn't a total flop - correct? I guess I'm struggling with knowing if it would make more sense to put all cash into something up front, or if it makes sense to just put down the 20% so that I don't have a large chunk of money tied up into something.

@Tchaka Owen thanks for your input! Do you have any insight into how much a refinance will cost? For instance, is it a percentage of the total loan?

Has anyone had any luck negotiating a property down in price through buying all cash, then renting the property out and then refinancing?

Hi All!

My name is Rachel and I'm a Real Estate Agent in the Fort Lauderdale, Florida area. I wanted to take this opportunity to introduce myself and share how excited I am to connect with everyone. I've been listening to the Bigger Pockets Podcast for quite some time now, and it has inspired me to get serious about growing my investment portfolio.

My goal, like most people here, is to steadily build up streams of passive income and build a life I'm in control of. I look forward to sharing ideas and learning from all the experiences discussed on this platform.

Thanks and I look forward to getting to know you all!

Hi Tim,

Congrats on your first investment property! I came across your post while looking for threads regarding Fort Lauderdale, FL. Since it's been a few months since your closing, I was curious to see how you were doing in the vacation rental/AirBnB space? My husband and I are looking to invest, but we're still deciding what the right strategy is (single family, vaca rental, etc).

I'd love to hear about your story if you're open to sharing. Thanks!
