Thanks for taking the time to respond. I have noticed that there are a lot of foundation issues with some of the houses I’m looking at, especially in certain areas of San Antonio. I am not currently in Texas at this time, so I’m having a friend and a realtor view the properties for me. So far out of all of the properties I’ve been looking at, the new construction offers a lower fixed interest rate and include things like a 2/1 rate buydown, closing costs etc.

Buying my first house in San Antonio, TX using my first VA loan. Looking for any tips, specifically about buying a new home with incentives vs. buying a much cheaper property that will need cosmetic updates.
