@Jim K. thank you for the feedback. There’s a problem worst then the mold -“ Finding a trustworthy competent contractor”. I did decide to go with the foolproof option so that I have the highest chance of eliminating my problem. Had I had a competent , trust worthy contractor who’s opinion I could trust, I would take a risk with another alternative, but I don’t. It’s hard finding good contractors you can trust (I’m sure I’m not the only one with this problem). Had my original contractor done what you suggest to basement interior when it was in studs, there is a chance this had not happen. But it did & I’ts ALL good, regardless of what needs to happen to fix the situation , I WILL DO IT. I will find the solution & Learn from it. I’m not looking to take shortcuts here. My property will cash flow $3k per month & appreciated $250k this year. - I don’t mind spending $10k to get this job done right.
