Hi @Talal B. Welcome to BP. I highly recommend the Milwaukee meet ups. It's relaxed, informative and a great opportunity to network.

Thanks @Nicole Pettis for putting yesterday's Milwaukee meet up together. Great information was shared and there were plenty of networking opportunities afterwards. Also, thanks to @Micah Schroeder and Jodi for their time and efforts.

Thanks to @Nicole Pettis and @Alex Anderson (not quite sure why the @ function doesn't work for Alex) for organizing the Milwaukee meet up yesterday. I've been to other rei meetings in southeast Wisconsin and it's always left me disappointed. Very much enjoyed the vibe of the meeting and having the opportunity to meet people that I've seen on BP. My son ( @Evan Zierk ) are looking forward to next month!!!!!!

Thanks to all that replied. I hope to meet @Dawn Anastasi ,@Ramon Jenkins , @Dave Carpenter and maybe @David B. too at the next Milwaukee meet up. @Ken Alston does the Dead End Saloon ring a bell? I grew up on 7 Mile Road (1/2 mile east of Nicholson Road).

To answer Ken and David B. about the Racine market.........it's very healthy. Maybe not red hot like a year ago but still lots and lots of opportunities.

David B. I'm looking at more of the blue collar parts of town. I find the historic district interesting and would like to hear your take on that area. I would love to become involved with downtown Racine at some point (Main Street).

@Corey Liepelt thanks for the advice.

@Brandon Turner love the podcasts.....keep em' coming (and I did setup my Keyword Alerts).

I know this is a real estate thread but.....Go Pack Go!!!!!

Post: Real Estate Agent/Buyer Agent Agreements

Being new to BP I was curious how other investors relationships work regarding real estate agents. The two agents that I've approached immediately want to enter into a buyer agent contract. Do investors here generally enter into these agreements? If so, at what length (1 month, 6 months, 1 year....). Pro's and con's concerning buyer agent contracts would be appreciated.

Hi Guys and Gals,

My name is Paul Zierk and I'm from a city in southeastern Wisconsin called Racine. My wife and I actually live just outside of the city, in the county, in a place called Franksville. Racine is about halfway between Milwaukee and Chicago. I love coaching youth sports (basketball and soccer) and all the positive impact that team sports has to offer. I also try hard to stay physically fit by being a dedicated runner ( 4+ miles a day/ 5 or 6 days a week).

My wife and I bought our first property in 1992 (a fixer upper duplex). We lived in one unit and rented out the other. It worked out so well that we bought another duplex as a total investment property. I had plans at that time to grow our portfolio. My wife became more financially conservative over time to the point that she wanted 0 risk in our lives and we liquidated both properties in 1996.

As a life long resident of the Racine area I'd like to make a positive contribution to the community by providing quality, fair priced housing to the blue collar market. I plan on doing this by purchasing under valued/distressed properties and improving them.

I'm also looking to supplement our retirement with a passive income of $3000-$3500 a month. I hope to accomplish this by acquiring 16-18 units (buy and hold) in the next 3 and 1/2 years. I'm also interested in exploring lease options as a possible way to raise capital.

I'm looking to network with like minded people in the Racine/Milwaukee area. People that aren't only investors but also want to make a positive mark in southeastern Wisconsin. I'd also like to share/exchange experiences with the entire BP community.

If you haven't checked out the BP podcasts.......I highly recommend them. Great (awesome) content at an unbelievable price :)

This is way to long winded (especially for a guy that types with one finger) so I just want to say thanks for reading and I look forward to new experiences!!!!!

Paul
