@David Goings , I am currently looking at an 8 unit in Columbus, GA it is currently managed by Bickerstaff Parham.  Any opinions on them or who may be a better option.

This is definitely a rookie question, but I have been frustrated with Zillow and Trulia with not having accurate info. I do not use a realtor for me search and it looks like you have to pay for a subscription to use the MLS. I am looking at properties in the NY/NJ area. Is my best bet paying for the MLS subscription. Any advice on making the property search more streamlined would be appreciated.

I am relatively new to BP, trying to narrow down my first move. For awhile I thought I thought the best course of action was to look at multi-family homes. I've recently come across an apartment in Westchester County, NY for a great price and doesn't need and was recently renovated. I don't like the idea of paying HOA fees but after HOA and Mortgage I would still be able to profit around $600 per month and have a ROI slightly over 10%.

I just wanted to hear about what people thought about apartment rentals compared to multi-family for a first time investment.

@Adam Anderson.....I don't have a property yet, both places I put in offers for already had accepted offers. Both places were in Orange County, NY.  And both would be rentals, but I am looking at everything rental or flips

New to the site and wanted to reach out to anyone in the New York / Northern New Jersey market.  I have been looking for sometime to buy a property and at this point I'm ready to pull the trigger.  I wanted to see if there are any contractors / handymen who have done work in the area and may be interested in teaming up.  In addition for anyone who has purchased in the Northern NJ area I'm open to any suggestions / ideas you might have.

Thank you
