@Tom S. do you feel your investments have outweighed the desire for a home of your own in CA?  I just feel like my rent is going to someone else's pocket and not into my own in equity.

I am looking into investing into real estate and want to see what everyone thinks about investing first without owning a home of your own. Or should I just save for my own place then think about investing later. I live in CA so rent is high and homes are even higher. I'm not too interested in house hacking either. I feel torn because I want the little money I have saved up work for me but at the same time if I start investing, buying a home of my own may never happen. Thoughts? Thank you

thanks for the advice everyone.  @Logan Allec how does one get into a place for only 3.5% down?   That seems unheard of.  Granted I am very new to this.  Thanks

I am looking into investing into real estate and want to see what everyone thinks about getting into rental homes without a home of my own. I live in CA so buying a home is hard without a lot of money but investing out of state would be possible. Any comments or advice would be great thank you.
