@Iqbal Brar

Hi, I am in the Georgetown TX area and I can vouch that both Georgetown and Round Rock are growing pretty fast. I don't know if you trust it but Zillow's 1-year forecasted growth shows Georgetown at about 12.5% increase and Round Rock at 15%. I haven't looked around Pflugerville, TX too much but I'm sure it is also growing fast since it is closer to Austin. I would be happy to discuss each location in more detail if you would like.

Since you're getting conflicting information from the agents you've contacted. I recommend the real estate agent that I used recently. Many people are swamped with the market but really took the time to really view a lot of houses with me to make sure we got a good one. I do warn you it may take some time to get a property since the market is so hot here. A house we put an offer on 10k over the asking price was outbid by someone.

@Paula Orty Okay thanks a bunch! I'll definitely have to keep that in mind as we try to solidify our plans for the future.

@Scott M. Thanks Scott, I'll be sure to do some digging to be before I decide to go with them.

@Scott M. Great thank you for your input. I have heard that there are legal teams on military installations that can help people with these documents and local tenant laws free of charge. I will definitely have to schedule an appointment with them before I leave the military.

Hi Everyone,

I am looking for your experiences in long-distance property management.

I am currently in the military and purchased a home outside of the Austin area that I have decided to rent. My family and I currently live in this home and are polishing a few things to get it rent-ready. Once I leave the military, we are planning on moving to the New England area. This home was built in 2020, so everything is pretty new, so I don't foresee any major issues popping up, but anything goes with some tenants.

I plan on being able to visit the property at least once a year. I also have some connections with local companies for problems that arise like electrical and plumbing etc.. I don't have any experience being a landlord yet, so it may be hard to manage a property from a distance. Is it possible to do so? If so, what are some of the challenges that you encounter and how you overcame them? If not, would a property manager make it possible?

Thanks,

Peter
