Like Pete Barrow said, either eat it or get a lawyer. In my experience, the BBB isn't really that potent of an organization. Same with the realtor board.

That’s perfect. Thanks Patrick. How can I check for general contractors?

Electrical contractor says he's licensed in STL City, County, and Jefferson County. He gave me a nine digit number, and his LLC name. How do I go about verifying that he is in fact licensed?

You know what's also not cheap, Matthew Paul? Paying out contractors each time they think they're right when they're really not.

Did you read my post? I didn't need 30 minutes to review $75 worth of work. He was charging me after the fact for work not yet performed.

Hey Jermell,

I'm not giving this guy what he wants. I'm done being pushed around by scum contractors like him. You're right $75 is nothing, but I've paid off scum like him before just for 'peace of mind,' and I'm not doing it again.

Hey Merrit S.,

Interesting. Where are you getting that info? What if I want to fire a contractor halfway through (in my case I had more than enough reason to), write up an agreement to fire him, but he doesn't want to sign? Doesn't seem fair to investors/homeowners like me who are not happy with a contractor or their work.

Hey Daniel,

$75 isn’t much I know, but it just doesn’t seem right that he could successfully place a lien on my property because he CLAIMS I didn’t pay him. That’s my point.
