Hi @Chris Tracy,

I have been considering it! However, I find it difficult to figure out how to finance those. It is already very difficult for me to find financing, as I do not have demonstrable income for the US. I earn my income in Haiti, and the banks do not really consider our tax authorities to be honest..

So far financing has come from proof of funds etc.

Hi Daniel,

I am in your situation as well, although I am also investing from another country! I agree with Landon, the BP podcasts are a great tool, with so much information. I usually only listen to the ones that ineterest me. I am looking for buy and hold, so I do not listen to most podcasts about flipping etc.

Looking forward to seeing your progress!

Peter

Hi Jean Pierre, that is great! In which area of Haiti are you renting out?

The market in Haiti for real estate is not good right now in my opinion, unless you build/buy all cash. Interest rates here are around 16%, while CAP rates are around 12%.

How are your South Florida properties doing?

Peter

Hello there BP community!

My name is Peter de Gier, and I am a dutch national living in Port au Prince Haiti. I manage a window company here, and I am interested in investing in real estate.

For years I have been reading books, creating excel sheets, looking at deals, listening to audiobooks or podcasts (BP podcast is the greatest!), but never actually set the first step into purchasing a property.

I hope to make that step before the start of 2017!! Wish me luck!
