Hey everyone!

My name is Peter Belanger, and as the forum title would suggest I'm a new member here at BP. I found BP while looking for a podcast on investing and thought it couldn't hurt to sign up on the actual website.

A little about myself...

I'm 36 years old, married with two young boys (ages 8 & 5). I work at a video production/post house as a 2d motion designed and color grader. Up until about 2 months ago I have been completely uninterested in finances/budgeting/investing .. and as a result racked up some debt. What really got me though was when I opened a letter from my mortgage company saying my payment went up $500 a month due to an escrow shortage from last year.

I had had it. It was time to grow up! With the money I was making there was no reason to constantly feel stressed about money, or to be living paycheck to paycheck. The wife and I purchased YNAB, my real estate agent/investor brother turned me on to the Rich Dad. Poor Dad book, and I started listening to investing podcasts. The wife and now have a plan to get out of debt in the next few months, and start building toward our first real estate investment.

...

I'm super excited about all the content at my finger tips here at BP!

Thanks for reading.

Peter
