Dmitriy,

Thanks for the welcome and thanks for the links. I will make sure To touch on all of them. I have already set up some keyword alerts and that has been working good.

Rafael,

Thanks for the info and I have done as you suggested and reached out to an investor here. I plan to meet up with soon and see where that leads me.

Thanks for your guidance

Pete

I would suggest finding a seasoned wholesaler in your area and trying to help them with their deals to learn quickly and sink your teeth in on some real-life action.

Me personally, I would start on by finding SERIOUS PROVEN BUYERS, which you can find at your local REAs. Once you know them and their criteria, you can build campaign fully knowing you have the buyers end covered. You'd also learn tons from them during the process. I believe in having a handful of serious buyers than a database of unknowns..

Hope that helps.

Good afternoon, and welcome to BP! Here's some food for thought:

Before you make your first investment, meet with a mortgage/financial professional. They'll ask you to share your short- AND long-term goals, and then they'll help you construct a plan that will do two things:

1. Achieve your short-term goals that will produce proceeds and resources that will,

2. Give you the wherewithal to pursue and achieve your long-term goals

Many investors start off "too hot", and they either overdevelop their first property or they spend their money too fast - either of these behavior will stop you dead in your tracks, and you probably won't even be able to achieve your short-term goals - and you certainly won't have the resources to pursue your long-term goals. Since you're not paying a mortgage pro for consulting, it's in their best interest to give you a solid plan so you're successful.

I wish you the very best!

Grant

Hey everyone!!

I'm Pete Garcia from Texas specifically in the San Antonio/Boerne area. I'm new to RE Investing but looking to start and get my feet wet with wholesaling. For the past several months now I figured I'd educate myself before taking the plunge so I've been reading BP posts and listening to the webinars and podcasts in the background. I know there is still a ton to learn and I may not know it all but, I got to start sometime right? keyword being "start" :) My plan like others is to start with wholesaling and get some deals under my belt and keep reinvesting the funds to move into other niches down the road. Here in BP I'm hoping to connect and meet with other investors to pick your brain for ideas, guidance and advice so that I can provide good/great deals where everybody is happy.

To start out I do have one question I need help with. I see a lot of members stating that if your new to REI you should first focus on getting your buyers list rather than focusing on finding deals. Others state the opposite by focusing on the deals and the buyers will come. As a newbie I would assume finding deals is what a wholesaler does so naturally that should be the focus but I'm not sure I'm just starting out here... Can anyone provide some more insight on this?? Ready and eager to assist buyers and other investors.
