Post: Preferred equity or common equity in a syndication

Hi,

I’m starting out to look for investment opportunities in real estate syndications. Some funds offer preferred equity and common equity in the capital stack. What are the pros and cons of each option and in what scenarios would you pick one over the other?

Many thanks in advance for the discussion!

Penny

Hi BiggerPockets community,

I just started my research into real estate syndication as an investment vehicle for passive investors. My goal is to learn as much as I can from all the pros in the community and make my first deal within a year. I’m super excited to start the journey. Would love to hear all the tips and suggestions!!
