I live in Cary. Both of those areas are growing very well and both have a good quality of life. I saw on the news recently that Zebulon is expecting some big employers to come in soon and growth is there too, so you might want to check out that area as well. I have a realtor I could recommend if you don't have one already. I wish you well in your search.

Irene,

I have no experience in Pre-licensing. I did a search though by adding a "-" to pre-licensing, (Search for "pre-licensing nc" I found a few past conversations on BP. I tried to copy and paste the link to that conversation but I can't seem to paste links in here. The information from about 6 years ago posted by Boomer Creed was that he had heard good things about Superior RE School. Hope that helps.

Another great resource for out of state investing is David Greene's book "Long Distance Real Estate Investing". Great tips in there. Just like my previous recommendation it is available on here and Amazon
I am not sure of home prices there, but I was in Austin TX shortly before the Covid crisis and things are booming there with a whole lot of tech jobs and a bunch of people there that moved from the Bay area. It's driving up prices like crazy but check there. Also, I live in Cary NC just outside the Research Triangle Park and Raleigh and Durham and there are lots of tech jobs here and I know you could find something around here for 300K that you could house hack.
Lori, what a great start finding these deals. I recommend you buy Brandon Turner's book called "Investing in Real Estate with no and low money down. You can buy it on this site and on Amazon. It's a great book. There is a highly rated book on Wholesaling on Amazon. That might be a good one as well although I have not read that one.
I am using Foremost insurance. My primary home insurer's coverage was going to be almost twice as much as Foremost. I went through an insurance broker, I think you can call them directly but it's nice to have someone you can email or call.
Thanks Mitch, I have contacted them via their web site.

I am buying a property via a wholesaler and was told it would be a double close. I have no experience in this and would like to hire an Attorney to represent/advise me in the sale. Does anyone know one in the Raleigh Durham area?

Thanks

@David Lee Hall, III

I just tried to get BP insights on the phone app and can’t see data from bp insights. I would think you should be able to access this data on your phone or download it like you want to do for what you and I are paying for pro. Hopefully someone from the site will respond to your request.

I would like to know where he got this statistic about 10 years and out of the industry. It doesn't seem plausible. If you look at bigger pockets members, there are countless numbers of people on here that have been members for a long time with lots of deals under their belt. That being said, you aren't going to get many people that got out of the business comment on here because I would imagine if you get out of the business you would not come to this web site to comment. I am just starting out and I would love to hear case studies of these people that got out of the RE business to possibly avoid their pitfalls but have not seen any.
