Hi Nick. Good luck with your case in Jan. I’m in NJ. The caveat in my case is that the eviction has 2 counts, one for nonpayment and one for lease termination because of a confrontation with my property manager that involved the police. I’m hoping that since the second count is not related to finance that the stay can lifted and the eviction can still move forward. Fingers crossed!

Thanks John.  Yes, I’ll talk to my lawyer about lifting the stay asap. Hopefully, that doesn’t take too long. Nevertheless, it did buy them a little more time which is frustrating.

Thanks Chris. I’m so relieved and happy to move on.

Hi BP!

Yesterday, I got a default judgment on a 2-count eviction (for nonpayment AND for a confrontation with the property manager involving the police). Today, I found out that they filed for bankruptcy protection. My question is - Will the courts still let the eviction proceed because of the second count since it is not a financial matter? I’m impatiently waiting to hear from my lawyer but wanted to put it out to you.  Thanks

@Frank Chin - thanks!

Newbie Question. Why do you need a LLC? Can a HO6 and umbrella insurance policies (for condo rentals) give you enough liability protection?

Thanks

Newbie question. Why do you need a LLC? Why not just buy extra insurance and a umbrella policy? Thanks
