Hi, welcome to BP @Ahmad Omar. I kind of agree with @Brooks Conkle I'm not so successful with wholesaling at the moment for that same reason. I was able to acquire a house recently which I'm planning to fix n flip. I'm in the process of looking for trustworthy contractors to start the rehab but, so far have no luck. I will re-organize and will try my chance on wholesaling again once the construction starts. If anyone has a contractor they want to refer, I'm all ears. Keep in touch.

I see that you posted this 6 months ago. I'm in the same situation right now. I several contractors have seen the house but, so far I found them overpriced.  I wonder, if you were able to find a contractor. How was your experience with them? If they are not currently tied up with a project with you, would you refer them?

@James Miller I know that this thread is already 1 year old but, it's been very useful. Can you please clarify this process or explain it further where you send your company check to the local title company. Are you referring to after you win the bid & have to send EMD? The check is payable to whom?

Hi Everyone, 

My name is Paul Abrilla. I've been a member for about a month now. My desire to learn how to invest in Real Estate and secure my family's future has led me to BiggerPockets. I've taken some REI classes so, I have an idea but, would love to actually see it in action. At the moment, we are looking to purchase some properties in Mobile, AL for rental & possibly do some flips once in a while. We would want to do wholesaling but, getting some leads are harder than we thought. Especially with two little kids around. I was originally from NYC and in the Information Technology profession but, some unavoidable circumstances 2 years ago forced our family to moved to Alabama. I owned a small business in NYC that I'm currently managing remotely from home. I'm looking forward to eventually do Real Estate Investing full time and I'm hoping that the pros here in BiggerPockets can help along the way.

We're new investors in Mobile/Baldwin counties in Alabama. We're trying to look for properties to rent and/or flip. Tried contacting some wholesalers but, it appears that they don't have enough inventory in the areas that we're interested at. If there are any wholesalers/investors here I would be happy hear from you. Perhaps we could network & collaborate on some projects. I've been trying to find an REI club in the area as well with no luck.

@Lee Waldrop what is your experience in flipping houses in the Baldwin Area? Do you find buyers despite of new houses & subdivisions being built left & right?
