@Abel Curiel thank you so much for the response. I thought it was just odd because it had when I had to pay the security deposit the amount in the day I had to pay it so in my mind, it was a contractual agreement between me and the landlord.. just curious thank you so much!

Hello,

Need some advice from the BiggerPockets family. I am currently in the process of renting a property in Monterey California. The property management company wants me to pay the deposit and the first months rent prior to the owner signing the lease agreement. Is this normal and is it legal?
