Suggestions: remove carpet, including pad. Paint walls and ceilings. Open windows to air out. Pour bleach down all drains including floor/ basement drains. Check attic for rodents etc. I hope this helps

When I was looking for my LLC name I checked to make sure no one in my state had it registered already. Your state should have a list of registered business names. You cannot have one already taken. So I would suggest righting down 2-3 names that you would be happy with. Bounce name ideas off of friends and or family members and get their opinions. Unless your company name has some what of what you do in it then you will always be explaining what you do. Your business cards will have that name as well. I go by the KISS rule. "Keep It Simple Stupid". Hope this helps.

I am in the same boat here in Des Moines Iowa. All the podcasts I listen to. The books I have read and some rereading again. Local REI group here but they start their meetings before I can get off work with my full time job. Just trying to get started.
I have always had luck thru the vent stack and jetting. As always, get multiple bids. Being a business owner myself and owning a home, I always have 2-3 plumbers, HVAC, electrical companies in my contact lists. If not, start networking! Ask friends, family and co workers on who they had the best repairs by. Also..... ALWAYS make sure they are insured!! I have a copy for my customers can look at at anytime.

Welcome Canesha. I as well am new to real estate investing and live in Des Moines. I agree with Scott on finding experienced guidance in the area.  I have been listening to pod casts and reading a lot. Love the BP podcasts!!!

A few of us are going to arrange a informal unorganized meet and greet in Des Moines in January sometime. Hopefully we can meet.
