Thanks for the responses. I am still trying to decide on a direct to concentrate on for the immediate future. I am seriously considering getting my agents license, but trying to evacuate the benefits. I have been considering looking at smaller houses near Harding in Searcy. We spend a good bit it time in Searcy and there are lots of older houses around the college. My thoughts were that Harding students might be a better tenant than typical college students. If anyone can provide any insight in this direction, I would love any advice.

I live in Central Arkansas (NE of Little Rock) and my wife and I are planning to start investing in rental property soon. We had two rental properties, years ago, but have been out of the loop for 10 years. I am an insurance adjuster, and travel about 3-4 months a year, but am off work and at home the remainder of the time. I have money for down payments and for upfront cost. I am considering getting my real estate license in the next month (I’m currently in Florida finishing up for Hurricane Irma Claims). I am looking at rental property as a path to retirement, and don’t need the income now, but could definitely use the tax deductions. I would like to know what experience other forum members have in Arkansas. Like the title says, I am more ignorant than I’d like to be, but I am eager to learn and willing to listen. Thanks for any info.
