@Mazen Al Ashkar and @Olivier LePage i'm getting ready to settle in Saint-Jean-Sur-Richelieu this summer and I was wondering if you guys had any real estate experience in that region? House prices seem reasonable but is it a market that will gain significant value in the next decade to come or will prices stagnate?

@Saeid Safarmehdi Sure, as a previous BP member mentioned, I'll be be joining some of the events organized by these local authorities: CIIQ, Immofacile, Mordus de l'immobilier. They seem to be the ones that organize the most events on REI that I could find in MTL.

@Olivier LePage Awesome, looking forward to meeting more Montreal REI. I'm gonna start attending local events soon. Looking forward to maybe seeing you or other people from BP.

@Roy N. Ah I see. I thought it was common practice for institutions to list their foreclosed properties on MLS/Broker websites.

@Thomas S.

@Thomas S. Thanks for the tips

@Guillaume D. Yeah I think I might have to use several metrics in order to see if the investment itself makes sense. It's crazy how even though I work in investments and insurance, real estate investing is a complete new world to me. It's kind exciting and challenging at the same time!

Do you know of any local REI meetings in the Montreal area? Maybe I would have a good chance of finding a mentor there.

Hi everyone,

I was wondering if you guys knew about some websites related to foreclosures in Canada? Are these typically listed on websites by banks or are there other ways of obtaining that information?

I sometimes see listings on Kijiji where the agent mentions it being a foreclosure but they are quite rare, and honestly they usually don't advertise it.

I appreciate your help!
