@Rick Borgo thank you for your advice.

And i would like to thank other members as well who responded on my query.

We have decided to go with an investment loan option and got 3.36% APR from one of the lender with 1200$ worth points. So, we are currently working on closing the deal with it.

@Stephanie P.

I will follow your advice. Thank you.

@Michael Glist thank you for advice. I am still new to this so getting knowledge on best and proper way to do it. Thank you again

Hi,

I am planning to get our first rental property with one of my friend. I am in Texas and he is in Washington. We have applied for a loan as a primary house but lender company is asking for lot of details like they are asking for a proof from my friend that he is moving to Texas and wants his employer to comment on that.

What will be the best way to get a loan for first investment/rental property? Should we apply for a loan as a investment property with higher rates or is it possible to get a primary residence loan ?

Any help will be appreciated!

@Ashish Acharya thank you for feedback. Is it good to own it on my name with my friend instead of forming an llc ?

@Jessica Harrison

Thank you Jessica for your suggestion.

I am on H1B visa and I am planning to get one house with my friend who is a green card holder.

We are planning to get it on our name. Do you think that is better option and won’t impact my visa status?

Or is there any better option that you can suggest?

Any help will be appreciated!

Thank you.

Hi,

I'm currently on an H1B Visa. I'm hoping to start investing in real-estate with my friend who is aa green card holder.

Currently, we are planning to get a house on our name and then we ll rent it out.

We also thought about owning it first on our name and then transfer it on LLC name which we plan to form later on.

However, my status as an H1B holder does complicate things. I've done a lot of reading and have found that I am only allowed to passively invest in an LLC (even if it's my own). However, the definition of "passive" escapes me and there seems to be no concrete definition.

I do not want to risk my status or possibility of delaying my green card application.

What ll be the best way to invest in real estate with partner being an H1-B holder ?

Any help/suggestions will be appreciated!

Thanks in Advance!!!!

I am from Irving, Texas. I am new to real estate. Me and one of my friend are planning to buy a rental property in Dallas, Texas or in any around towns. Any suggestions ?

Also, Is it good choice to buy a property on the name of LLC as we are partners?

Any suggestions will be appreciated.
