What type of insurance would I be looking for/what would it be called? Not homeowner's insurance for the property, right? And the insurance for myself in case of suit... liability insurance?

Thank you for that. @Curt Davis   When I'm starting out what do I need insurance on and for? And down the line when I actually have property is it the property I am insuring, the business I am insuring, or something else that you're talking about?

I am curious to know if it is typical or recommended for someone just starting out in real estate investing, let's say using wholesaling strategy, to create a business entity such as an LLC. Is there a need that early on? When is there a need in your opinion?

@Jacob Elbe  thank you for the warm welcome. I was wondering if there is anything specific to the Arlington/Alexandria or DC metropolitan area market that I should be aware of as a new investor?

Thank you. I found the meetup.com REI groups and will attend one this weekend. I am seeing now that there is so much great information out there. You just have to know where to go.

Hello, I was told about this site by a member of a entrepreneurial Facebook group when I asked if anyone was investing in real estate as another stream of income. I would like to learn all I can. More specifically, I am interested in earning money from assigning real estate contracts and selling them. I am very new to the concept. I am located in Northern Virginia.

My full time profession is Family Law Attorney. It is a solo practice and a new business for me as well, and it is going very well. So, I have plenty of entrepreneurial spirit and drive. And love to learn! I look forward to learning from everyone and networking, especially those in the DC, MD, and Northern Virginia area.

Is anyone making money from investing in real estate where you sell your interest in a FSBO real estate purchase contract to an investor (you don't take ownership of the house)? What is a reasonable price to charge? What are some good/bad things about using the method of REI?
