Hi all! I recently bought an ugly home (the interior space, location etc make up for it!) but I would love to get some ideas on what to do to make it less painful on the eyes. The porch needs to be rebuilt and the garden improved - but my main problem is the large shed dormer that makes the house like a mailbox.
Any ideas on what i can do to improve it?
I was thinking about putting more windows in the dormer and extending the roof so there is more overhang (over the dormer and the porch)
Another idea was to expand the porch to cover the width of the house, and building a steeper roof on that to hide the ugly dormer behind it (the ridge of the porch roof would run perpendicular to the ridge of the main roof, if that makes sense...)
Would love to hear your thoughts or alternatives!
If it helps, i will be living in this house for a maximum of six years, and then would need to sell it again
