These are all great points!, thank you all for replying. I agree with a lot of the arguments (pro and against) I was not talking or planning investing in syndications since a lot of the big ones require "accredited investor" status which I don't have. I was talking or thinking more about medium multifamily 10-20 units. But I also understand that time is a big factor to consider. My question is also regarding the dogma of: start with a single family, then continue with duplex, etc.... I know some big "real estate personalities" recommend start small and grow slowly but steady, while other recommend the opposite. I think that regardless the strategy, real estate in the long term is a wealth creating machine and want to take advantage of it.

Lastly to the point saying that country needs more doctors than real estate investors. I totally agree and I am not trying to quit medicine. But the healthcare system is challenging and in the visual board of my future I envision myself working in medicine because I love it (which I do) and not because I have to. I'd hate to be attached to a system, hospital or medical group that I dislike just because is my source of income. At the end I think that I am looking for freedom for me and my family in a way that I can practice my profession (medicine) in my own terms. Also, the fact that I truly enjoy learning and talking about real estate helps. Thank you all!

Hi, my name is Oscar and I am working to start my real estate investment journey. I am a recently graduated physician and I am looking to create wealth through real estate. I have considered many options, however, in order for me to make sense the use of my time I want to get into commercial real estate.  I am also the type of "go big or go home" person. I'd like to know your experiences with the first apartment complex you guys have bought and what recommendations you have for me. Thank you so much!
