After reading books, forums, attending a REIA and networking, what else would you recommend to a new investor? Knowing what you know now, how would you start over in current Charlotte market environment? Thanks in advance.

@Nick Newsome Thank you for the response. My current goal is to invest in Charlotte NC area but would consider Springfield area depending on the deal. Are you currently looking in Springfield area? PM me about forming a mastermind group, it would be great to brainstorm ideas.

@Juan Lebron Thanks for mentioning the local REIA, I will search for it. What has been your most successful way to find flips in the area? It would be very interesting to hear how you are building your portfolio, send me a message and we could get together.

@Dave Hurt Thank you for the meeting invitation, I will keep it in mind next time I am in Charlotte. I am looking for anything between 2 and 50 units in Charlotte and surrounding counties. With the market being so hot, it’s a challenge to find deals based on the properties I already analyzed. Are you having any luck with direct mail?

I am very happy to find such a great community here on Bigger Pockets. Big thanks to everyone who has contributed to make this website a great place to learn.

I currently live in Springfield, Massachusetts area with my wife and kids. I work as an Analyst in the finance industry.

My goal is to learn how to build passive income through Real Estate. Plan to gain experience by purchasing my first property in the next 3-12 months. Since I have family in the Charlotte, North Carolina area, I am strongly considering to invest there. Would like to purchase a multi-family/apartment property and start learning by doing. Have been reading a lot and analyzing multi-family/apartment properties by running the numbers to learn as much as I can.

My goal is to give back and share my knowledge to help others achieve their goals. I would love to connect with people in the Charlotte, NC and Springfield, MA areas. Please do not hesitate to give tips and advice.

Seeking advice from like-minded investors for networking opportunities. Would like to build a team including a broker, lender, accountant, lawyer, property manager and contractor based in Charlotte NC area.
