@Jon Klaus the neighbors deny having any drainage problems.

Hello everyone!

I have quick question for a friend. He is a tenant in a house similar to this one:

(This picture is from Google, not his actual house)

The wall on the right is the beginning of the neighbor's property, no space in between. His problem is that the house floods every time there is heavy rainfall on the right side of the house. He has told his property managers numerous times and they say they can't (or won't) fix it because the problem is on the neighbor's property. What should he do?

@will beanard than you for your input. I hadn't thought about starting out in property management, that is a great idea.

As far as the RE agent, I was thinking more along the lines of being more of an investor agent and learning through that platform is possible.

@joseph thank you for your reply. I know the area pretty well, what the houses usually sell and rent for. I spend a lot of time looking at houses on our mls website.

I will be looking or for local BP meetups.

I know this question has been asked countless times but, here's another one. I've been wanting to get into real estate for a while now, I'm trying to learn as much as possible. What are ways I can get into real estate without actually investing to get experience as I learn. My goal is to get into buy and hold investing.

I'm considering becoming a licensed agent as I see that as being a possible advantage down the road, is this a good idea?

Also, how do I find experienced investors in my area (Houston) that would allow me to maybe watch them find and put together a deal, and I, of course, would be willing to help in any way I can.

Hello everyone!

I found this site a couple of weeks ago and finally decided to say hello and introduce myself.

My name is Olivia and I am from Houston, born and raised. I am looking to get into investing and I'm trying to learn as much as I possibly can. I am open to any advice anyone has for a newbie like myself.
