Hi guys,

It's good to know that there are tons of other like minded folks! I am new to the RE business. Home ownership, is currently my only hands on exposure to RE (ten years ago, so quite rusty). I am looking to invest in SFH or duplexes buy and hold for a start. I was elated to randomly run into the BP website two months ago while trying to do my research. I have a goal to make this be the year I start out. Perhaps do 1-2 buy and hold properties per year. Flipping is a welcome idea once I get my boots on the ground. Its been long coming. Have some money set aside, but like many newbies launching out and pulling the trigger can be overwhelming. I hope to find other investors in my local and neighbouring areas Birmingham etc that I can network with as well as learn fast and have my input in the BP site. They say iron sharp iron.

Quick question, is it adviseable to use a sibling as an agent.  My sister is a realtor, she has two rentals... we do pretty well as sisters but not sure if doing business is a good move... she is willing to assist me as my realtor find my first rental...  Any suggestions/ experience with family is kindly welcome.  Again thanks to all that share their wealth of knowledge here on BP for the greater good of all.

Post: What kind of car do you drive?

I too have had the car debate with family and friends not to mention the silent stares from co-workers who expect a me to be driving in style based on my JOB title.  Presently driving a 190 K Honda Oddessy.  But oh no, I know where  my priorities lie...   financial peace/ freedom with my time.  So glad to know I am not alone... New in RE and yes this is a goal that seems far fetched presently, yet very attainable.  Thanks for all BP comments; very encouraging.
