I am looking for residential general contractors in and around the Houston area (610 loop). I'm planning to build two houses within the next couple months. Does anyone know of any good (and timely) general contractors in this area? I prefer you send me contacts of contractors you worked with in the past and not just word-of-mouth. Thanks again!!!

Hello, Houston. Question: I have a 50/100 plot northwest of downtown that's two lots on legal description but one lot on tax assessment. What's the process for obtaining a separate plat for each lot and approximate fees and costs? Purpose is to subdivide and build two separate units. Thanks in advance for your replies!

Hi everyone,

Our LLC owns a single-family property in Southern California which was purchased for all cash a few years ago. We have had great tenants in the property since March. We want to refinance this property and use the proceeds to buy another property.

We were told by our mortgage broker that underwriting lenders generally will not lend to entities/LLCs. Mortgage broker advised us to pull the property out of the LLC so the lenders will agree to give us the loan, and then put the property back into the LLC once the loan is in place.

Is this common practice, or should we shop around for another mortgage broker?

Thanks in advance. Looking forward to hearing from you.
