@David Pere Also, I just checked out your profile. It looks like you have done a lot of great things! I have tried to describe to many fellow Marines the kind of things they could achieve in real estate, and for some reason so many people see these great options, but do not quite see themselves as being able to achieve them. Thank you for your voice in the community! I will definitely start listening to your podcast, as well as sharing it with others.

@David Pere I agree! I happened to stumble across the MARADMIN one day, and I was surprised that more people don't take advantage of it!

The Locations page of the DoD SkillBridge website is suppose to give the most up-to-date list of companies who are actively participating in the program. However, I have not found anything on there that is really directly involved in real estate.

I would love to intern at a brokerage, to gain experience that would help in being successful as a real estate agent. I think it would be helpful to see negotiations, learn more about underwriting, and see sales close.

I am open to many opportunities though, and am willing to gain experience where I can. I am also in a position where, because I am still about a year out from actively working for a company, I could study or develop skills that would be helpful to a specific job before I even get there. This way I may be able to contribute a little more.

If I I am unable to find anything real estate related, then I will apply to work as a carpenter/builder in the program. I think it would still be a great opportunity to gain some experience, and the more knowledge in general I can build, the better.

I also heard in a podcast recently that David Greene has taken people in the SkillBridge program in the past, and that Brandon Turner would like to in the future. I have attempted to message them, and if they would have me, that would be an awesome opportunity.

Hello Everyone!

I am currently active duty in the USMC, stationed in Japan. My time in the Marine Corps has taught me so much, and I am thankful for the opportunities it has given me. I am from Middle Tennessee, and I look forward to returning there eventually. I have a beautiful wife and newborn baby girl that I would give the world to. My long term goal is to retire early and spend time with my family, utilizing real estate as a means to get there; this is something I am willing to take risks and work my butt off for. I am a big believer in giving, and I intend to help as many people as I can all along the way. In the future I plan on trying to intern/apprentice/work for free to contribute to someone much more experienced than myself, in order to gain some experience for myself. On my way out I plan to utilize the SkillBridge program, a DoD program that allows service members to work for employers at no charge, so that they can gain some useful experience. The program is amazing for both employers and service members! If anyone has any contacts that could help me with that process, I would greatly appreciate it. I may be  inexperienced, but if there is anything I can do for any of you, just give me a shout! I am excited to learn a lot from this community!
