Hello Real Estate Investor,

I am a roockie trying to learn and getting into the game of Investing in RE in Ottawa, Ottawa
I have found a property and a investor for the deal, but having difficuties providing exact details to convince the Investor.
I have provide the actual price and cost after repairs (costing of sales around the neighbourhood). However, he's asking exact repair cost.
My question is, how can I get this information if the house still in the market?
My realtor has showed it to me.
I bring in a contractor, I will have to pay for his time to come over plus extra visit with the realtor.
How can I solve this? Also, is there an app I can download that will allow me to put all the details and show me all the number?

Your experienced help is greatly appreciated..
If there is any investor in the area willing to teach/coach or provide their expertise, I am willing to meet and connect.

Thank you so much

Tyron,

I've been a part of a group here in the city for the last couple years called OREIO (Ottawa Real Estate Investor's Organization) they meet once a month and bring in guest speakers from all over.  It's a great place to get started and meet other investors local to Ottawa.

I've been active within Canada and the US, with about 500 units of new construction on the go in the USA and 90 units here in Ottawa. If you're interested in syndication and other various ways to invest in commercial real estate just reach out or attend OREIO and meet some great local developers and investors.  I must add that OREIO is for all levels, a good chunk of the crowd are still looking to make their first investment and it's a very welcoming environment.

 HI Paul,

Nice to see you here.

I am also a new investor trying to learn all about REI

I also attend the meeting, now that things are opening up. Next time we are on one the meeting I meet you and say hi.

To My fellow Canadian....

What is the US LLC version for Canadian Real Estate Investors???

I am new and I would like to start the right way for investment ..

Thank your for you replies..

@Bill Hampton, @Basit Siddiqi, @Ahad Ali

Thank you all for your great advises. I thought it would be a simple process, but you are right. It better to start small, get the feeling of the first LLC and then take it further is necessary.

I will also try to consult a local tax accountant and attorney to see if I can start with my first one.

Hello Family,

I am pretty new so  I need your advice when it comes to building a proper business structure.

I would like to do it right from the beginning before starting to escalate and growing so I won't born out!

I have watch a lot of webinar and suggestions online but I still a little confuse. Many are recommending to have a Corp business as real estate to protect your asset.

In my case, I don't want do only Real Estate, but I also want to do Internet Marketing, Maybe later some Repair Apartment/House and Management in the future.

My problem I don't know how to setup the business. The idea is to create a company with Umbrella structure. The main company would be called example Johnson Empire Corporate, and under this main company I want to have Johnson Real Estate Investment, Johnson House maintenance, Johnson Internet Marketing, and many more.

Is there a way to do that? and when it comes to registration and  paying taxes, I will be paying only to the main name Johnson Empire Corporate or with the rest?

Who you suggest I might see, Finance Advisor, a Tax advisor, an attorney, a real estate advisor or investor advisor?

If it was in your case, how would you structure them?

Thank you in advance for all your answers
