@Joe Schultz I had a plumber with camera indicate that it would need to be replaced after continual backups on one of the downstairs toilets. The home is 1971 so I’m not expecting cast iron to last forever. I have a couple vendors coming over to provide bids to see their thoughts. I rather not dig up the home but also don’t want any backups

@Andrew S. I had plumbing backed up and had the camera and they have already clean out. I was told they have about no more than two years of life best case.

@Ryan Hamaker thank you for the information. Can you share the company you used?

@Michael Haynes yes I’m realtor. This isn’t about having a handyman. I’m just trying to see if anyone is familiar with the trenchless process and whether it is better or worse than the traditional repair of taking up the flooring.

Hello,

I bought a fixer upper, and found out that the cast iron will have to be replaced. Has anyone had any experience with the trenchless repiping and lining? pros and cons? If you have any recommendations on companies in the Tampa area that would also be helpful.

I would look at other builders if possible. I had two buyers in two different communities that each had major problems and delays until closing. As another person look at the complaints.

Did you request a estoppel from the property manager of the hoa? You may be able to negotiate the delinquent fees.

@A.S. Minor yes backing in and out of traffic can be a nightmare unless that is common in that area. I would visit during peak hours. Not particularly family friendly in the front. A work around might be to change drive way to a horseshoe entry. Overall it might be worth it.

Have you physically walked the property? The one picture looked like previous leak in ceiling but it could just be the picture quality. I’m not a fan of busy highways. I would run the comps to see what has sold and currently selling to get an idea. It’s owned by Opendoor so just a corporate investor. Worse case you offer and they don’t accept, you don’t know until you try.
