Thanks for letting me know.  If they offered a trial, I would certainly give it a try.  I have been going the route of meeting with divorce attorneys and bankruptcy lawyers.  I've been going through Linkedin.

You are not alone.  Before I knew better, when I purchased my first property, I got screwed by the listing agent who must have known she was giving me a fake roof certificate.  We had some minor dampness in our bedroom ceiling and I tried to reach out to the company on the certificate and the license number didn't exist and the address for the company was an apartment building.  I actually felt let down by my own realtor because he's experienced and should have checked the license for accuracy before moving forward with the purchase.

I'm not too sure if their service is available nationwide but it's worth your time to check it out.

Have you had success with rebogateway.com?

There are a lot of big old homes in my Baltimore neighborhood with 5+ beds and 2+ baths in the 80k-100k range (rehab quality).  Neighborhood is safe and up and coming.  I can see potential for 2 units in these homes, with some work.  Think it's worth the investment?  Any one have experience doing something like this?

Where can I read about the laws that apply to rentals in Baltimore City (in layman's terms)?  I'm about to purchase my first property and will need to do some renovation prior to renting it.  I'm looking for any information on zoning, building codes, etc.

I've noticed, for example, some multi-family units have stairs attached to top floors.  Is this a fire safety requirement, depending on the number of floors or height of the house?

There are a few vacant properties I've spotted.  How do I go about finding the contact information for the owners?  Should I just mail a letter to the address of the vacant home?  Does a site like List Source have more information?
