This is story about following your heart and being true to yourself despite what other people think.

I am an interior designer. I have my own business. I started out in the architectural field and moved over to interiors to roll up my shirt sleeves and play with texture and color (my two most favorite things next to bourbon and pork belly). I was also looking for more instant gratification. Architectural projects seem to take light years.

I love interiors. I have great clients, but something is missing. It's still not fast enough!

I want to do what I do for my clients, but faster and for myself.

I feel this intense draw towards real estate. It makes me feel like everything I've done up until now was meant for it.

I've managed big projects. I've organized data, done design, specifications, purchasing, and construction administration. I've worked with developers. I have a lot of contacts in the world of construction and real estate. I am even an accredited stager. Ha!

I also love a deadline. I thrive on mayhem.

I think that quick flips is where my true passion lies.

I'm getting to the point here. I promise.

I sat down with my best friend tonight. She is a top producer in the county for real estate. I gave her a $100 gift card as a gesture of partnership and intent. I wanted to let her know that I was serious about this venture and that I wanted to take her with me.

She wouldn't take the gift.

She said "do you know how many calls I get from all walks of life,...people who want to flip houses?"

This response and her refusal to take my gift, made me feel like she didn't believe in my ability to make this happen. Or that I was just a sheep.

I get it. Flipping is the trend. It's something that everyone wants to do, but I have two thoughts running through my head.

First, everyone may want to flip, but not everyone has the ability and know-how to flip.

Secondly, the more the merrier. Real Estate has lots of room for many types of people. We are all inter-connected. Together, we make a system. We feed off of one another.

A wholesaler, can't do their deals without their buyers up the chain. And seasoned investors are often content making 14% plus on hard money lending to smaller fish with a great deal.

So. I choose not to be disheartened. I will follow my path and go full throttle with what I'm completely ecstatic about.

And you know what? You should too.

I'm an interior designer with my own business in Beacon, NY. I am putting my talents and project management skills to use in real estate.

I do wholesale deals and quick flips.

If you are up the chain from here, and interested in these types of deals, I want to know you.

If you are a team player and/or a seasoned investor who wants to share information, I really want to know you. Let's help each other to succeed!
