I received an email from Realtytrac and noticed that my neighbor's (acquaintance only) address was listed. I tried going on the the county recorder's website to find out more info and it was not listed. But, when I was on the recorder's website, I started playing around a little and under "Lis Pendens" it showed a home of another neighbor. I am all new to this and am just trying to figure/find out how can I obtain more info. on purchasing these homes.

Can someone please explain to me the whole process if you wouldn't mind???

Thanks in advance.

Hi Larry,

I am a newbie in REI too. Actually, this up coming Saturday I start a Real Estate 101 class through Joliet Junior College, at the Romeoville campus. I understand from reading other posts that you do not need to be a real estate agent in order to invest in RE, but, I would like to learn more about the whole thing and what it entails. You said in your psoting that you have already attended a meeting at a real estate investing club. I'm interested in learning more about that as well. Thanks, Larry and I am looking forward to speaking with you.

Nicole

Hello everyone,

I am also a newbie and needing a lot of information/support. I have had an interest in investing for many years but never took that leap. I did not know where to start off at? Recently, I attended "Learning Annex" seminar and seen/heard a few keynote investors speak. I took in a lot of information and wrote down a lot of notes, but I am still blind to everything. I know I can do this is I had some guidance. I was also wondering if there are any books out there that anyone recommened to read re: first steps to investing. Ya know, these speakers gave a lot of information but they did not give step by step approaches. Please don't get me wrong, I am not wanting nor asking for anyone to hand me everything on a golden platter. I have always been a hard worker and will work hard at this too, but I just need a little guidance. In one of the postings a lady gave some advice to another person and told them that they should go to their local real estate investors meeting and talk to some people there. Currently, I work in Chicago as a legal secretary for a very large law firm. I really would like to delveinto something different. If anyone has any advice or support, it would be greatly appreciated!!! Thank you in advance for your time.
