Thanks @Joe Krevinghaus!

How's the house hacking going? I'd love to hear about it sometime.

I also just looked into getting a real estate license.. how far along are you? It seems like a good idea even just for the 63 hours of education.

Thanks, fellas!

Judging by the responses, there seems to be an enormous level of support and camaraderie here!

@Jordan Williamson At the moment, rentals are most appealing to me. I love the concept of having multiple passive/semi-passive income streams.

@Brit Foshee Perhaps next time you should lead with the fact that we've known each other for years? ;-) It cracks me up imagining how these other guys read your comment without knowing we're already friends. -Brit Foshee the stranger networking matchmaker.

@Seth Nadreau 11 million people vacationing in the Smokies every year definitely seems to make it viable for investing :-D I haven't looked into it too deeply yet, but I know there's plenty of cabins that are already fully managed, rented, and maintained by developments/cabin HOAs/orwhateveryoucalladevelopmentofvacationcabins that could potentially be feasible investments. I actually know a realtor from down here who purchased a cabin a couple years ago and I believe it was rented the vast majority of the time.. up until a few weeks ago when he retired and moved into it.
I really like the monthly cash flow that rentals can provide, but I also wouldn't mind a couple big checks -especially early on. Either way, I'm looking to get creative and put as little of my own money down as possible, since I'm still working on growing my other business. I don't mind light rehab work, but nothing too serious as I don't have a great amount of time nor extensive construction experience to put into projects.

Hey folks,

I'm new to BP and I'm still figuring out where I'm going to fit in this wide world of real estate. I'm a local to Fort Myers/Cape Coral, with a 7 year hiatus in the Smokies of East TN, and I am looking to start investing in either area (with an emphasis on SWFL since it's where I'm currently residing).

I own a small ecommerce business which I am still focusing on growing, but I'd love to start adding cash flowing properties to my portfolio.

Bigger Pockets has a ton to offer and I have enjoyed what I've gleaned from the podcasts/articles/forums so far. I'm eager to connect to, partner with, and learn from the dedicated BP community!
