@Bruce Lynn I appreciate what you wrote about the whitepaper.  I was able to find one for my state.  I am also finding that as you mentioned part of the learning curve is knowing what a particular state's law is.

At the same time, I have in the past found paying some money for a course has helped me to learn and take action more quickly.  Even if it's $1,000 - $2,000, when I've looked at it as an investment in my business, I usually have been quicker to start making money and making less mistakes.

There are 3 courses that have recently come to my attention about tax lien certificates and tax default properties either from others on this forum or from other real estate investors I know.

1) https://www.taxsaleacademy.com/

2) https://tedthomas.com/

3) https://taxlienacademy.com/

I think all 3 courses range from $1500 - $2000.  From the research I've done, it appears this business is legit and a great way to make money if you know what you are doing. I did sign up for the 1-day webinar with Ted Thomas for $47 and found it interesting, but he does have an upsell to join his course.

Does anybody have experience with any of these 3 courses or know of another one that is good?

@Don McAlpine you had mentioned both the https://www.taxsaleacademy.com/ and the https://taxlienacademy.com/.    Have you taken both of those courses?  Which one do you recommend more?

Hello Nathan,

Have you done any of the boot camps through Deeper Pockets?  If so, would you recommend them?

So I am fairly new to real estate investing and just want to introduce myself. I do have a fairly extensive background related to personal finance with teaching Personal Finance and previously having a career as a Financial Advisor, but as for REI I am hoping to make my first multi-family unit purchase in the next 6 months. I have 2 questions in regard to real estate investing:

1) If you have joined Bigger Pockets Pro, is it worth it?  I am ideally looking for an online course that includes a community and group coaching feature (on Zoom or something like that) where we can ask questions.

2) If you are local to St. Louis, MO, do you know of any meetups or in-person events?

Looking forward to networking with you all and working together to find success here!
