Hey Everyone,

I have a question that my fiancé and I have been unable to find any answers on, after extensive research. We are closing on a House Hack this Friday! We will be renting a 4x2 house and living in the 1x1 detached apt. However, the utility meters are not separated. We have no idea what the best way to divide up the utilities are accurately, without carrying some portion, or offering a "utilities included" lease. Any help or experience the community can offer would be much appreciated. Thank You,

Nick and Delaney

I’ve heard a lot of talk going around that newbie investors should be saving up and holding onto their cash instead of investing during these uncertain times.

My thought process however is that, if you have the cash reserves, you purchase a multi family house hack that you can afford even if you can’t find the tenants. What could go wrong?

- I’d have 6 months reserves

- I’d be able to afford the mortgage payment if we couldn’t fill it

But, if everything went RIGHT I’d just be saving even more money because our tenant(s) would be paying the mortgage.

Thoughts?
