Post: Starting a property management company

I was wondering if anyone had any experience in Texas starting a property management company. Do you need to have a license and operate under a broker or a brokers license? What are the steps one would take to establish themselves with no real estate portfolio but a passion to provide the best service possible to investors? Any feedback is seriously appreciated. Starting from ground zero. This will be my approach to build capital to fund my own real estate portfolio. Most recently I was on the edge of buying a duplex but pulled the plug due to financing concerns killing my returns since I do not have a sufficient amount of capital to invest at the moment. Thanks!!!

@David Patchett if you don’t mind me asking what made you sell the property?

@Scott Passman

Thank you so much for your input!! This helps immensely! One more question, since my capital for deposit is low my mortgage and title representative has been talking to me about using a DPA, any experience with this? I know the interest rates can be kind of high but she said I can refinance in six months to go back to a regular conventional loan. My credit score is currently at a 775
