This is all really great advice. It is probably worth it to have someone come out and look at it. Hopefully that will pacify this guy. Thanks everyone.

If I recall correctly, there is not a "push to test" button on any of the outlets in the garage. The townhome was built in 2000. I think that the breaker has GFCI built in, but I will ask him to know for sure.

Thanks for all the replies. This is a new tenant - he's only been there a week but has complained about numerous items already. He has been very difficult from the start. I live in a growing area outside of Dallas, so I think it would be relatively easy to replace him. It is the circuit breaker that is tripping. I'm not sure what else is on this breaker - could be the washer or dryer? He said it is a new refrigerator, less than 3 years old.

Hi! I'm a new landlord. My first tenant wants to put his refrigerator in the garage, but the outlet can't handle the load and it keeps tripping. He wants me to pay for an electrician to come and fix it. I don't feel like this is something that I should be responsible for, because the outlet works, it just isn't mean to handle that type of load. Would you fix this?
