My wife and I have 6 doors in Cedar Rapids, IA and we're packing up and moving to Waco, TX for work. 

I'm simply looking to rent a 2+ bedroom apartment or house for 12 months, maybe longer, starting in December. We'd be happy to live in your house hack. I'm having a hard time finding anything and any help would be appreciated.

I can prove income and have good credit.

I thought I'd add some additional information on our house hack.

We bought a 4-plex in Marion for $200k. We got it with a $0 down loan with Green State, which is a local credit union.

It was fully rented when we bought it, with one unit moving out, which we moved into. It rented out at $595. $595, $625. They had been giving the garages away for free and the units were all a bit dated. They needed a little more than just paint and carpet. As people move out, we've remodeled the apartments. We did outlets, light fixtures, light switches, vanities, ceiling fans, carpet, paint, all new windows, etc. 

After the remodels the units rent out at about $695 each and we rent the garages out at $50 each. 

Iowa City can be tricky, you'll want to try looking in Cedar Rapids and Marion. You're welcome to see my four-plex that my wife and I house hack in. Four-plexes dont pop up in this area that often, but they do pop up once in awhile. The issue is that they're often a bit run down and rents are low, so plan on doing paint, carpet, and ending leases on tenants.
