@Harry Metzinger

It has been almost a month since closing. My initial closing date was September 16th. However, due to obvious issues with Sage, I closed about a month later (about 13 October). The experience was AWFUL, to say the least. Ultimately, I had to take matters into my own hands and make about 100 calls to management at SAGE and management at HUD. Unfortunately I do not remember the names of contacts I reached out to.

My main issue, in a nutshell, was HUD not signing certain VA contingencies (for VA loan). The way around this is to have SAGE write a signed letter stating why they will not sign this document. It literally can be one sentence, but the VA rep at the mortgage company will need this (again, for VA loan). Ensure the SAGE rep signs the letter. Once that is done, and all other requirements are met, closing will happen. It sucks that I went through that mess but I'm glad I have that experience to help future clients.

I want to thank you guys for the contacts you have provided in previous posts.

-Nelson

I have not closed yet but scheduled to do so tomorrow. I feel similar to Harry in that I am more relieved to close than excited. It was a painful experience, but I did call the contacts that you guys gave me and the letter, I waited over a month for, was written and signed that same day. I am very thankful for each one of your help and BiggerPockets. :) Let's just hope I actually close tomorrow.

I am a buyer currently going through a similar situation. The worst part is, I am purchasing with a VA loan and Sage is required to write a letter because they will not sign the VA Appraisal Addendum. That is literally the only document holding us from closing. We were suppose to close on the 19th of September. To make matters worse, I am deploying on the 16th of October. This was relayed to Sage, however, they are in no rush close our case.

I'm hoping maybe one of you guys could help me. If you have a direct contact, that would be great. I am on my second extension and would love to close before I am gone for 8-10 months.

Thanks,

Nelson Vargas
