I bought a self-made course from a seller, spikes14, that is actually really good. Has anyone else heard it.

The sound quality, on the 4 cds, leaves alot to be desired but it has alot of good information. He is a self-proclaimed non-guru but has been to all of the guru seminars and has been doing it successfully for years. He weeds through all of the b.s. that they preach and explains, in a very easy to listen to style, what actually works for him.

Mike-
Just noticed your link and am enjoying your blog. I may even consider picking up your book when I get caught up on my reading backlog. I also liked the excerpt on Amazon. If ppl would throw $20K houses at me, or 2/$50K I could get rich too. LOL.

Thanks for your response. Let me add that my partner and I each have very good credit and have been on our "good" job for 10 yrs.

Ok, I misspelled "starting" in the topic. Maybe that is why I haven't received any responses. Now they'll probably poor in. Just gonna sit back and wait.

Hello, as most others do I'll start w/ a little background. I'm 35, live in Asheville, NC, wife, two kids, one dog, mortgage, 9-5 job, etc. I can go into detail on my mortgage if necessary.

A co-worker, and I, are looking to try our hand at REI. We are leaning toward rentals, w/ flips thrown in.

My questions:
1. Does anyone have any experience in, or knowledge of, investing in my area?
2. My debt:income is skewed toward the debt side. Will I have a problem finding financing? Who are the better lenders for my situation? I've used Countrywide for my last two conventional mort., and have been very happy w/ their streamlined process. I have never had a problem getting financing for my primary res. but my income will not necessarily show that I can make another 1K pmt. Having a partner will surely help in this but how do I use this to obtain the financing. Do we need to setup a corp. of some sort, then can we show our personal incomes? Lots of questions on these points, any information is greatly appreciated.

Thanks to all. I'm looking forward to this new experience and very excited about the prospect of leaving my job, working for the man, in the, hopefully, near future.

Thanks guys. I respect you both very much for where you are?

I'm sure I'll have many questions along the way and I'm relieved to know I have a resource like this to turn to.

As for paint and carpet, the reason I say that is because paint, carpet, and lino would cover like 95% of the whole house. You can even paint the baseboards, and the door and door frames white. I've seen this on some houses that before looked absolutely dreadful. But by just doing that they looked like newly renovated houses. The key is not to do too much.

Do you cut & paste this into ever post or do you have a macro for it?

Just kidding. It inspires me every time I read it even though inside I realize it's not quite that easy.
