Hello! Welcome to BP! There are some pretty awesome people in this forum that will help out in any way that they can. I have found the community to be honest and positive and willing to give you that boost that you need to move forward with your goals.

We did just have our FIRST EVER biggerpockets local meetup last week and it went very well, we have a great group of people here. My goal is to have them bi-monthly and to cover topics that will help us all grow as investors. So any suggestions that you may have are welcomed. Please make sure you add "Milwaukee" to your keywords so you can keep up with the events.

Thank you for the advice. I was surprised to find them as well. We still have to go look at them and see what the issues are, but hopefully one of these will work out!

Hello!

Quick question here....my husband and I are currently looking for an investment property to live in to start are REI business. While our main focus is foreclosures and or short sales, I have been coming across a few properties that are priced well below comps in the area that are neither.

The reason being they need major updating/renovation. My guess is they have distressed owners that are just ready to get rid of the property and don't want to put any money into it.

Is it wise to look into these if the numbers work?

@Steve Foth I know, I'm sorry. It was just difficult to find a great space for all of us. We are looking into better venues that are still a convenient location for everyone and conducive for better interaction. But I am glad you were able to make it and it was so nice to talk to you and your wife! I enjoyed the whole evening!! I'm very motivated. Everyone at the meeting inspired me to keep moving forward.

@Uwe K. Everyone left around 9 or 10. No meeting minutes.....it was just more or less a meet & greet. We introduced ourselves & our goals. We discussed when we would meet next. Everyone asked each other questions. The next one will probably be more focused....
