Ok, so I just made my first purchase. The plan is actually for me to move into the home I purchased and rent out my current home b/c I'd be able to gain more cash flow from it. However... I just received word that the person I am purchasing from would like to rent for 5mos. My question... If I let them rent the house that I'm buying for them, is that legal? It's convenient, but if I'm purchasing as a primary residence is that a problem. Even though it's temporary? If not, no biggie I'll go with my original plan and they can rent out my current home. Lastly, Market Rental Rate--- what's the best resource for finding that out. Thanks BP Nation! -Newbie Property Owner

I'm a newbie just trying to get educated so that I can learn my way in this business as a way to make some passive income.  Any advice is appreciated, but I'm really excited about this new journey. I have a FT job that I intend on keeping for a while but I would love to retire in 15-20 years rather than 30.!
