I have an in-law (Aunt) that works as a full time agent in Atlanta and am conflicted on whether it's the right way to go in listing our personal residence and buying our new one.

She is full time and seems to have done well over the past ~3 years or so, but I'm wary of potential conflicts that could arise.  I plan to just have an open and honest discussion with her to get all our concerns out on the table before deciding one way or another.

I would appreciate any feedback here.

Thanks for all the feedback everyone.  I've been going back and forth on this for a while.

There's another layer to it as well - our potential agent is an in-law.  She's a full time agent and has great reviews / seems to have done very well.  All that being said, I'm hesitant due to all the complexities, decisions, and emotions that go into these transactions.

I'm in a relatively health market (Atlanta), so I'm confident our house will sell well, but I also don't underestimate the impact a great agent can have on getting the best possible price.

Thoughts?

Thank you!

I’m looking to sell out of my current primary residence to upsize and relocate. I’ve never purchased while having to sell at the same time, so I’m wondering whether having a single agent for buying & listing is a good approach or whether having separate agents is better.

I imagine having the same agent for both could give me some bargaining power to rescue commission %-wise across both transactions, but at the end of the day commissions are only a portion of a transaction.

I’m looking for feedback from both agents and buyers/sellers.

Thank you for your help!
