thanks @Kevin Sobilo - tenants who live in another, smaller apartment want this unit for their 4-legged family.  So in fact, I have the place rented (was going to show it to others on the slight chance they fell through. They just told me they started packing over the weekend, so yep, they want it.

Tenants failed to 'keep me in the loop' as they promised.  Returning calls, texts several days after I reached out to them. The only reason I knew they had scheduled their closing date is because I texted that several workers would be out to give me estimates for yard work. I wanted to alert them that people would be in the yard.  Guy texted me back the next day saying 'we won't be here, we're at our closing.'  If I hadn't texted them, they'd not have told me.

They were great tenants - and I'm happy they found a home they love.  Kinda sorta feels as if it's a 'we're moving, our loyalty is gone.'  :(

Tenants "moved out" yesterday (Saturday), then texted me that they were having someone come in to clean on Thursday.  Um....  that's 5 days into the month, and you've left several  large piles of bagged trash in the unit.

I had painters scheduled to paint the place today; postponed them because of this.  I had people coming to view the house tomorrow: postponed them because of this -- several were interested in a mid-month start date (we're in a university town - lots of movement!).  I work a crazy more than 40 hr a week schedule, and can't get there to clean it myself.

Fair to dock their security deposit half a month (at least)?:  It's always something.
