Thank you for the kind welcome Kerry. I disagree in part with you @kerrysmith, but understand your point and excitement. The wealth building journey might be great, but not nearly as rewarding as what I plan to do with my independence. Photography is a lifelong passion that opens worlds to others as well as oneself. This isn't about wealth (strictly speaking) to me, it's about freedom and about being free to affect others in positive ways.

I see that you've used VA loans in the past. Thank you for your service to our country. I have a question for you, if I may; I have a sister in the Air Force, she has wanted to invest in the past, and I know she'll be on board again after my first purchase. Being that you have experience with a VA loan and a bit of knowledge of turning a OO home into an investment property, how might she and I best partner in a deal? She likely wouldn't want to manage, and I'm in MN, she is in MO. First thoughts? Not looking for legal council, just ideas to mull over as this begins.

I'm new to BP, but not new to investing. My name is Darius, I am from Minneapolis, MN and am looking to get back in to REI. I've bought, owned, and sold a number of properties (3 SFH, condo, duplex), and co-managed 150+ units. I currently work as a photographer, which is far more rewarding, but does not secure my future.

I left REI in 2009, but am poised to re-enter the game. My primary goals are a B&H strategy, with the occasional flip for capital. I currently own no properties, but am currently looking for a 2-4 unit/ multiplex for owner occupancy withing Mpls city limits.

I am just saying hello, and inviting anyone from the MSP area to connect for immediate or future deals, networking, etc. I've been enjoying brushing up on my old skills, from listening to podcasts to running prospect evals.

Lastly, I do offer photographic services to realtors and owners. Great photographs do make a difference with your listing. My rates are affordable, all usage rights are included and I can offer a 24 hour turnaround on any property in the metro area. Contact me for info and my website.
