I agree with having a good exit strategy when you enter a partnership.  Just make sure to clearly define the partnership.

That said, I've had wonderful partnerships with my friends so I'll be a bit more positive about that end.  If you have a very strong friendship - it can be an absolute blast to work closely with a good friend for many years.  My best friend is still my business partner although we live across the coast from each other.  I'm always looking for opportunities to continue working together.

At the same time, it's the struggles that allow you to grow as business partners and friends and if you keep that in sight, it's really fun.

I'm also interested in this same topic.   Since I live in Harvard, MA - I'm close to Fitchburg / Leominster and also not far from Worcester.  I'm probably going to start checking out those areas as well as my local town.

Thanks @Renea Steward for the encouragement!  I'll look up the HELP below - good tip.

@Account Closed  - right on!  Looking forward to working flexible hours from home to be here for the kids!

I've definitely been lurking for awhile reading blog posts and consuming audio content - but there's a lot more to get done, especially the DOING part (not just consuming).  Today I ran my first rental property analysis on a local property - just to get in a routine of doing some every day to build skills.

Hi BP!

I've been lurking for awhile and tuned in to many of the BP Podcasts.  I'm finally dedicating time to moving my RE Investing future forward!

I'm currently a stay-at-home dad (3 small kids) with a background in starting/running small technology companies.  I also do custom woodworking.

My plan is to learn as much as possible while also networking with locals.  My initial focus is on buy-and-hold of small multi-units (bi-, tri- and quads).  I want to build a portfolio of units and manage them myself.  Of course, we'll see where the journey takes me.

I look forward to meeting BP members online and in person!
